Step out of your head and reclaim your power
Natalia Nicholson Google-Certified Digital Marketing Coach Founder of Women in Digital Business
Can you step out of your head for a bit?
Or maybe for longer...?
The real question is, do you know what it's like to break free from the doubts and insecurities swarming in your mind and allow yourself to thrive?
Running a business is already challenging, but each day, we face the added burden of thoughts that urge us to quit and disappear. When you're a Black woman, you also have to contend with people not believing you are worthy of the spaces you want to occupy.
And if we’re not careful, we can start to believe those doubts ourselves.
But no successful business can be built from a place of hiding. You need to be bold enough to recognize your potential and refuse to settle until you maximize it. This often means silencing the noise in your head and staying focused on your path until you reach your goals.
Today, I want to share the story of a woman who did just that, despite facing overwhelming adversity. I hope you are inspired by her story:
Tiffany Aliche:
Born to Nigerian immigrant parents, Tiffany initially found stability as a preschool teacher. She managed to be prudent with her earnings and saved about ÂŁ31,000 ($40,000) after two years of working. Then, the recession hit. She lost her job, faced losing her home, was buried under student debt, and had to move back in with her parents at age 31. You can just imagine how she felt.
At first, Tiffany was overwhelmed. But not for long. She drew on the financial literacy her parents had instilled in her from a young age. She began taking on odd jobs and carefully managed her income. Her friends who were also hit by the recession noticed how she was putting the pieces of her life back together and sought her advice. From those conversations, her financial coaching firm, Budgetnista, was born.
My Takeaway: When Tiffany hit rock bottom, she chose to leverage her knowledge to rebuild. She dug up all the knowledge she had and put it to good use. This is why investing in your personal growth is never a bad idea!!! You may lose everything, but never the knowledge you've stored in your brain. And when wielded effectively, knowledge is power!
Question for you:
What knowledge or skills do you have that can create a powerful change in your life right now?
Book of the Week
This week's read is "Chasing Perfection: Shatter the Illusion" by Sue Hawks and Alexandra Stiegulbauer. It's a great choice for anyone weary of chasing perfection. It offers practicable lessons on how to focus, minimise self-doubt and maximise your potential.
Video of the week
Check out Mario Lanzarotti’s inspiring video, “Stop doubting yourself and go after what you really, really want.” He reminds us that overcoming self-doubt is a journey of self-discovery—the most rewarding journey you can embark on. As he beautifully puts it, “On the other side of self-doubt is the person you have been looking for your entire life.”

Affirmation of the Week
As you begin your week, remind yourself every day, that:
"My biggest win is my ability to look my fears in the face and walk past them. And every day, I can wake up and choose to win!"
Transform your knowledge into power here!
Have a great week ahead!
Natalia.
