I hope you’re doing well!
By now, you’re either falling in love with Christmas all over again or feeling swept up in the whirlwind of festive preparations. Or maybe a bit of both. I truly hope it’s more of the former.
I know we are all busy with festivities, so I will keep this short.🤗
Reflection: This year has been tremendous and I am incredibly grateful to all those that have contributed to it. This holiday season, I’m reflecting on the incredible importance of family and community.
I’m deeply grateful for every member of the WIDB Community. From ideation to funding and eventually mastery, I curated programmes just for you. You are my inspiration and the reason I strive to show up as my best self every single day. ❤️
Thank you for being part of this journey. 🙏
Question for you:
What’s one thing you’re especially grateful for this holiday season? 🎄✨
Book of the Week
Looking for the perfect gift for a young Black girl? I Am Enough by Grace Byers tells a heartwarming story of self-love, perspective, and celebration. This New York Times bestseller is an excellent way to encourage young girls to embrace their beauty and potential.
A must-read for Black girls and their families this season.
Video of the week
I know when we think of doctors, we get all serious. But this is different. This video is about love, passion, and resilience. This week, check out the Black Female Physician Leaders Documentary by the American Academy of Family Physicians Foundation. It shares the inspiring stories of Black women pursuing careers in medicine—a field that has often presented significant barriers. Let their resilience and determination inspire you to push forward, no matter the odds.
Pro tip: Just watch the first 30 seconds, if you can't watch it all.
Remember: While we’re at home with our loved ones, medical professionals are out there caring for our family, friends, and communities. Let’s show them love and appreciation in any way we can. ❤️
